In 1998, Akadema released the legendary Professional Series baseball glove line.  Akadema uses only the top USA Steerhide on the baseball glove shell, palm lining, finger lining, and binding.  In addition Akadema only uses 1/4" USA rawhide for its laces.  Stronger sewing and welting techniques have strengthened the Akadema baseball glove.  Infield and outfield baseball gloves have "laced through fingers.  This lacing procedure make the baseball glove easier for a player to tighten and maintain.  All open web infield baseball gloves have reinforced lacing to strengthen the shell and pocket for less tearing in the pocket and a stronger overall baseball glove.
